Here's what I'm thinking at this moment 1. Burleson Centennial (sounding really good, been decently successful) 2. Aledo (they're having an off year) 3. Midlothian (cool writing, but the balance is a little weird on the recordings I've seen) 4. Birdville (impressive show, pretty well executed, already beat Richland by a good bit earlier this season) 5. Grapevine (not a whole lot happening in the show, but it's really clean) 6. Richland (same as Grapevine but less clean, also I heard they haven't had their whole show out for too long) 7. Azle (usually pretty good but not as successful at UILs as compared to BOAs 8. Saginaw (doing pretty good) 9. Joshua (they've beaten a lot of the other schools that people have predicted for these spots) 10. Brewer (solid show, good music, clean playing) The content and split music scores will really affect some of the historical placements. Keep in mind that this year, schools are sort of being graded on how difficult their show is. -
I would second this. I think Granbury will be second, and then the next few placements are kind of a toss-up

southlake carroll has been a little lackluster this season, I'm not sure if I would consider them for state. I would honestly put South Grand Prairie in the fight for 4th place. Maybe less likely than Timber Creek and Keller Central, but I think they have a better shot than SLC -

I think Richland is 100% better than Midlothian and Cen10, maybe even Aledo. Richland is getting slept on, I think they could go really high, like top five at state -

Here's my predictions: 1. Coppell 2. L.D. Bell 3. Keller 4. Timber Creek 5. Keller Central 6. South Grand Prairie 7. Southlake Carroll 8. Lake Ridge 9. Trinity 10. Boswell Trinity, Boswell, Haltom, and a few other schools could be interchangeable -

most of 7th through out-of-finals schools are impossible to predict. I doubt the CH and Birdville will make finals, just so many good schools this year -

Here's my ranking at this point in time: 1. Aledo (we all know it) 2. Richland (show is very very clean and the brass balance is incredible) 3. Cen10 (brass is cleaner than normal, but show still not as challenging as richland) 4. Midlo (very cool music writing, but balance was a tiny bit interesting the few times I have heard them) 5. Grapevine (super clean show, really challenging brass and woodwind parts) 6. Azle (always good but not necessarily a UIL show. Always more successful at BOAs) 7. Chisolm Trail (super impressive show) 8. Saginaw (also very impressive) 9. Granbury (Granbury is returning to 2019 levels of skill and awesomeness, they're on the rise for sure) 10. Brewer (very impressive brass feature, maybe even better than the 2022 show) I am curious what happened to Colleyville Heritage after the great year that they had last year. But anyway, the new UIL content score will take up a fourth of the band's overall score. This will grade them on the difficulty of their show, which could have an effect on the placements of usual state contenders and everyone else. This year is a really good year for all of the schools in this area, and I can't wait to see what happens. -

I am curious to hear what you might have to say and/or how your opinions might've changed with the corrected information -

Your information about Birdville at Wylie is incorrect. They were 9th in prelims (behind Lovejoy, 8th, and Plano Sr., 6th) and moved up to 7th, coming in just behind J.J. Pearce (7th in prelims, 6th in finals). -

oh i forgot. azle will be 5th and push the rest of the rankings back one. Azle looking good this year. Richland might beat midlo and maybe even aledo if they can clean their show some. This is Richland's best show in years, even better than 2019. -
I am curious why Little Elm didn't win any of the music captions, and I also don't understand why Richland wasn't in the top 3 at least. Richland's show is one of their best shows in years, rivaling 2019. Richland should've won the visual or auxiliary captions, if not general music too. Little Elm sounded cracked on the lot; they should've won best brass. Boswell should've also gotten best woodwinds.

With all things considered, this is my top ten: 1. Aledo (their show isn't up to the usual standard, could be beaten) 2. midlo (supposedly still really good) 3. cen10 (brass actually half decent now, but percussion will continue to hard carry their music scores) 4. Richland (freaking goated) 5. grapevine (they've had their whole show on field for weeks, and while it's extremely boring, it will probably be clean) 6. Colleyville (can probably clean up their show after some recent bad performances) 7. Saginaw (looking incredible, beat Chisholm Trail and Fossil Ridge at USBands) 8. fossil ridge (not that bad, also not super impressive) 9. brewer (brass is good this year, can probably come back) 10. Chisolm Trail/Granbury (CT- kinda average, Granbury- looking really good rn) One thing to note is that there is now a content score on the judge sheets, which could hurt some of the historically top bands that commonly march an easy show. It will be interesting to see. It seems like a lot of bands in this area are having a down year, and the ones just out of finals are having a really good year. This area should be very exciting to watch. -

Sorry, this isn’t completely true. What I mean is that just because a band did something at a previous comp, doesn’t mean the placements will stay the same
