josephbandfan Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 I didn't even realize how close SL was to making finals at SA last year. Hope they pop off this fall Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Seven Lakes has had several very solid shows in the past few years. I really like their designs and their style is pretty cool. Quote
BaritoneBallah Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 I think this is gonna be a good year for the less crazy bands to have a shot at finals. a lot of the crazy bands go on a schedule and, because of covid a lot of them got aligned together. So no Hebron, Woodlands, Reagan, Flomo, etc Quote

I’m curious to see what Vandegrift does. Will they be an every other year school like CTJ and The Woodlands? Will they slide into a 4 year rotation like Hebron/FloMo/Marcus? It also feels like it’s been a while since we saw the Cedars at Nats (Ridge and Park). I’d also like to see LD Bell make the trip again. And who but leandermomma knows what Leander’s plans are lol. Vandegrift is not going. They're going to the Macy's Day Parade this year. Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 I want Keller to return also. It's been too long! They could take along Timber Creek and Keller Central with them for the whole Keller experience. Quote

Especially after they make top half at SA this fall. I anticipate that TC and/or KC will be making the trip soon as well. Would be cool to have all 3 go in the same year. Though, I think someone posted over on hornrank that TC's head director is leaving so idk how things will go over there. They had such a great season in 2021 and I'm still waiting for the day that 2 KISD bands end up in finals at SA. LostChoirGuy 1 Quote

Next year's graduating class hasn't had the experience of going out of state during their 4 years. Would have been great for them to of had a chance. LeanderMomma 1 Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 Ah that's so sad. Hopefully they go next year. Quote
Popular Post Origin Posted May 24, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 24, 2022 I really want Keller to return as well, but I would like to see another compelling visual program from them before they go. They’re the only consistent San Antonio finalist that has yet to crack the top half, and for one of the best playing bands in the country, I think their recent visual offerings have held them back a bit. 2019 was a miss aesthetically, and 2021 was too bare-bones. Also, I saw that Seven Lakes will have over 100 guard members on the field this year so I imagine they’re planning something exciting! Franus, josephbandfan and brassdragon 3 Quote

There are rumblings that there could be a staff change at Keller as a result of the head director opening at Timber Creek. It will be interesting to see if that affects their plans at all. Quote
Franus Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Keller's schedule is out and unfortunately they're sitting it out again this year. Have a few bummed seniors ☹️ LeanderMomma 1 Quote

Holt87 Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 I think that given the current economic uncertainty, the timing wasn’t right for a first time trip of this magnitude. I’m sure we’ll get there soon, but sad for our Srs. LeanderMomma 1 Quote

It’s never too soon to start planning and chatting about the Texas bands who are (or rumored to be) attending GN next fall! You know, this is random, however I really love when people make these threads literally as soon as the previous season comes to and end. It warms my heart. Love the enthusiasm. This season is going to be fun to watch, first full competitive season removed from *the event*. A lot of director shakeups at a lot of top programs in the last few years. Interesting how a full season works out for a lot of these schools experiencing a lot of change right now. Go #TeamTexas! Quote

Oracle Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 It’s spring time for Hendrickson, despite a powerful showing. Ahead of the purple who made it in earlier. For our new powerhouse and Missouri frequenter, as well as our new friend from Buda, two clearly strong placements unfold. Quote
