BandFan59 Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 I like Carmel's show this year more than I usually like their shows, but a caption sweep and 1.35 point margin win seems excessive, even without having been able to see Avon, Broken Arrow, or Tarpon Springs. Quote
packwick Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 well i saw this Carmel win coming from a mile away. hahaha. no need to be modest. but it is a suuuuper boring result. Carmel is the only band at Nats that would have challenged for the top 3 at San Antonio imo Quote

I think I had called for Carmel in the beginning, but had switched them and Avon after so many times that Avon HS had won. Quote
Origin Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 Congrats Carmel!!! Crazy that Southlake Carroll finished 7th here which is the same placement they got in area finals. A testament to their ability to clean and the depth of competition in Texas. Dallas Hobbs 1 Quote
Nny14 Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 Hopefully Hebron and The Woodlands make that podium race a lot more interesting next year. You can't argue much with those results though. Dave609 1 Quote

Its amazing that two bands who missed in a tie-breaker to go to State this year got into Finals at GN! Glad to see #teamtexas being represented well!! Minimaster and JazzRun 2 Quote

I liked their show a lot better this year than I normally do with their shows, and they always seem to make that late season push nowadays. That said, if they had come to San Antonio, I think Hebron, the Woodlands, and Reagan would have all topped Carmel. Quote
celesta Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 MG Johnson was 12th in prelims and 15th in semis. Dallas Hobbs 1 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 Recaps are out Southalke-22nd-11th-7th???? There were some serious changes each around, like omg, this has to be the most craziest judged grand nationals ever!!! Dave609 and Niceone 2 Quote

All they needed was two weeks of no competitions and more focused cleaning. Same with Prosper, congrats to all the bands that made finals, and congrats to Carmel for the win! Quote
Dallas Hobbs Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 M&G Johnson was 15th with a score of 87.250 in semifinals Quote
Justabandchild Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 If I had to count on a program to play and move, I would go with Carmel. A well deserved win. Also another W for Texas bands representing at Grand Nats. Quote
Dallas Hobbs Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 Broken Arrow was first in prelims. Quote
SpartanBandAlum Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 Homestead and O’Fallon 10th and 11th in prelims, but dropped to 16th and 18th in semis Truly some crazy changes all around Quote
KeatonBaritone Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 Carmel had a very good ensemble sound and a lot of really well staged moments. Congrats, beautiful sounding group Quote
