No two competitions will ever be the same results-wise, and assuming that props or the lack thereof is what gives certain bands a higher score instead of attributing that to the performances of the students themselves is frankly disrespectful to the hard work they put in. BOA judges are highly experienced in their fields and they aren't going to give extra points for a band that has more props. I don't know what else to tell you. Then we can agree to disagree as it is the main differentiation. Round rock took out their tarp a prop for UIL.. a prop used for BOA. That argument doesn't really hold water when Round Rock did worse at BOA SA in Visual GE (33rd place) then at UIL State in Content and Design (25th). I know that's not apple to apples but it's as close as we have. Most likely the tarp meant nothing to their score. Their issue this year is the Content in the Visual Caption of the their show in BOA and UIL. They got 28th in Visual Ensemble at BOA and 23rd in Visual Ensemble at UIL State, but scored much better in Individual Visual at both events. principalagent, BandFan59 and peshbandkid
Popular Post natertater21000
One thing I absolutely loved while watching this contest was just how competitive the three 3A LISD bands were. By the end of the season they were all pretty much equal in my eyes. Each with their own unique and equally valid strengths. I loved all three shows and really enjoyed watching them push each other throughout the season. I really hope this trend continues into the future. Leander may pull slightly ahead once their numbers come back up to 2019 levels, but both CP and especially Rouse could grow as well. It's so fantastic to see 5 LISD bands in finals, it's honestly a dream come true for me. Having 4 LISD bands in finals for my senior year was a treat but this is just a whole other level of awesome. lhbenlee, LeanderMomma, BaritoneBallah and 1 other
