I didn't think that much of a jump was possible! Proud mom here! ❤️ I loved their show! So creative and well done! Quadmom68
VinoGirl
What a day! So much great stuff to see. Shows I loved, in particular: Highland Park, Wylie, Summit and Richland. Duncanville is so visually impactful - really enjoyed them too. Quite the day for band in DFW! Spitfire78 and Quadmom68
Tubalord11
Are these the new scoring sheets that will be used for Area and State?
Quadmom68
I'm still probably a newbie to understand the difference between between scoring for BOA and scoring for UIL. Can someone explain it in a nutshell?

Can someone explain it in a nutshell? BOA looks at music and marching but places a big emphasis in the overall show…it’s classified as general effect. The “acting”, the props, the flags are a major part of the judging. UIL is purely marching and music. Judges don’t evaluate the show itself. It’s only how well you march and play the music as a band and individually. Quadmom68

I believe this contest used the new state sheets. Judging (no pun intended) from the UIL website, I think area will still use the traditional five judges panel, but I might be wrong. Tubalord11
I was told from my director that Area scoring is having some changes as well, but it may just be what the judges are looking for.
