Samuel Culper
Does anybody have connections for a schedule? We're barely two weeks away and they have not posted one yet.
Dog885
Sadly their website still says the schedule will be posted in early September

LeanderMomma
Hmmmm. Not sure how I missed this competition before. I’m not sure I have ever even heard of it! And all of LISD is there except for Leander and Glenn. Interesting!
LeanderMomma
I’m about to check, but is this a drum line only thing? That rings a bell for some reason. Edit: yes it is a percussion competition in Dripping Springs. I remember now.
Dog885
According to my sources, Rouse is dropping

FEDude
Out of the NISD bands, Brandeis is the only one that could challenge the LISD bands. That's Mr. Asgari for ya. I don't know if classifications are based on band size, percussion group size, or director choice, but I'm surprised (and slightly disappointed) to see Taft in the small category. Samuel Culper
Almost positive that Small vs Large is about the number of bodies in the ensemble.
FEDude
I just thought Taft, which has a decent sized drumline and pit, would be with the other 6A schools in NISD. I might try and make it out for the brief time I'm in Texas again. Vista Ridge has had an inspirational front ensemble for ages now.
ctex1994
I wonder why some of the other top lines in the area don't go to this. I'm thinking of Cedar Ridge, Round rock, Westlake, Leander, even Reagan and CTJ.
Dog885
I hear if you're on the border of small and large, you're given a choice
bruhmomentum
I wonder why some of the other top lines in the area don't go to this. I'm thinking of Cedar Ridge, Round rock, Westlake, Leander, even Reagan and CTJ. Cedar Ridge doesn't really do early drumline contests anymore because our percussion director writes our drumline book and makes a lot of early changes and doesn't want to show up with an unfinished product. I wouldn't doubt that O'Connor is going to step it up this year at the Thunder in the Hills contest as well. They won the 2019 TCGC Indoor Drumline State Championships with a brand new percussion director. They are a talented group of musicians and I see them doing great things this year. Dog885
results? I think it took a while for results to be posted last year. Vandegrift won Advanced large with Cedar Park in 2nd, Vista Ridge 3rd and McCallum 4th. Advanced small was Stony Point 1st, Anderson 2nd, and Georgetown 3rd. Akins won Intermediate small. I remember a couple more in random places, but that’s all I can guarantee is correct
