LeanderMomma Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 I don't know how many of the TXB people are watching, but there are some great bands competing at this super regional this weekend. And if you are watching, WOW HOMESTEAD! That was a fantastic performance! Quote
LeanderMomma Posted October 19, 2018 Author Posted October 19, 2018 well. Homestead was great. Like Texas kind of great. But I'm not feeling the ones who have come after. OTOH, tune in at 7:15 (CST) and support Avon, our honorary Tex-Indiana cousins. Quote
Percmom21 Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 I'm watching here and there. I really liked Homestead as well. Thought Center Grove was good (they were 8th last year) but not great. Castle was really good too-they were 3rd last year. Fishers was 12th last year and I didn't really care much for them. Shrug. Richland is our band.....they had a rough go getting there. They had a surprise full bag check before they could load buses and that delayed them at least 1.5 hours to start with. Their scheduled driver change took place way off course for unknown reasons so their initial arrival estimate of 2 AM turned into about 8 AM. Poor kiddos! They took extra down time before getting on with their regular schedule but seem to be fully in the swing of it all now! Oh and the semi had a blow out somewhere along the way! Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Oh that's awful for those Richland kids. I'm really hoping for the best for our Texas contingency up there! LeanderMomma 1 Quote

Oh my goodness, y’all have had quite the journey so far! Hopefully they will rest tonight and be ready to KILL IT tomorrow morning! Castle was a lot better the previous two years. This season is a bit of a yawner for me. And Center Grove is so fun to watch, and their guard is excellent, but they were a little messy musically today. Lots of room for Richland to jump in and grab a spot! Quote
principalagent Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Well, it seems that Kevin is gonna be very warm on the beach over the next year. Quote

theotterarjun Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Just coming home from another wet day at UTA and it turns out that as try as they might, Trinity also can't escape the rain as well. Westfield (their rehearsal site) was also raining during their rehearsal tonight. Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Let's go Richland! I woke up early to cheer on our Texas groups even though I dont have time to watch most of today. Percmom21 1 Quote

Popular Post Percmom21 Posted October 20, 2018 Popular Post Posted October 20, 2018 I'm so dang proud of these kids! They had trouble before with the electronic opening piece and had to skip it many times, just got their 5th part week before last and had their one and only full/complete run through yesterday in practice. I think they did awesome! Thanks for the support y'all! RebelPercMom, LeanderMomma and Percplayer19 3 Quote

Popular Post principalagent Posted October 20, 2018 Popular Post Posted October 20, 2018 Trinity wasn't half bad! They might be able to make their first ever BOA finals tonight! Percmom21, LeanderMomma and whitewing09 3 Quote
LeanderMomma Posted October 20, 2018 Author Posted October 20, 2018 Great job by the Trinity band as well! Beautiful show! Love the butterflies. Percmom21 and whitewing09 2 Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Their ensemble sound WAS very good. I still have some qualms about DFW scoring, but I understand a bit about where a particular judge may have been coming from. Quote

whitewing09 Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 I really enjoyed Trinity. I hope I'll get to watch them again tonight. Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 I am sad to not see either Texas group in finals. Parkwoodmom 1 Quote
principalagent Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 My hunch is that Richland is behind where they would like due to weather, and that Trinity was held back by visual. Quote
