Shiloh Phoenix
Ensemble: Cheetham Scherzo Solo: Hindemith tuba sonata all movements. I still can't find an accompanist good enough to play the piano part. I swear, it's got to be the hardest piano piece I've ever seen in my life. artishard
The Heiden sonata is HARD to play all the way through, pretty high tessitura. Personally, the 3rd movement is one of my favorite things ever. my favorite movement is the second movement, because of that weird weird weird loud part. it's so challenging to play well, that it makes it fun. heiden can be hard, i was playing it all the way though, and if i just practice until the competition, i know i can at least handle it. my teacher handed me villanelle last year, i decided i wanted to do strauss since no one else was doing it,and next year i'm looking at En Foret.... hah, we'll see. Keyboard_Countessa
Our Solo & Ensemble contest was last week. All three percussion ensembles got a I, and I even managed to get a I on my solo. But 3 weeks ago I was freaking out over my solo and getting so stressed that I even considered dropping it. But thanks to some encouragement from my band director I stuck w/ it and practiced twice as hard, and it was so totally worth it.
