longhorn2190
Ok what exactly happened in Crockett 93? Did people die? This is seriously annoying and no longer funny. If it's a practical joke because everybody always says "Oh yeah Crockett 9 was so tragic," then it's just not cool to keep saying this if your not going to elaborate. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. Will somebody please shed some light on this?
Martin.Tpt
I don't exactly know (or care tbh) but what happened in '93 Crockett still gives me nightmares. Hopefully someone will answer your question. It's probably like an insider that they probably don't even feel like answering...

ftwdrummer
Yep, it really is the single fall tradition that absolutely, positively, NEVER fails to happen.
bandbot4.0
As a member of Crockett '93, I would like to set the record straight. It was a travesty. I would never wish this upon anyone. I prefer not to talk about it.
Montoya
I was a sophomore in 1993. All I will say is this: In 1994, Crockett got its first Division II in school history, and they've never been the same....
marcomac29
I almost cried when I found out. Apparently, the town of Crockett had been living for years as though they were in the 1800's. The adults in the town would never speak of the outside world and never let any of the young people leave their town. Then one day, someone got really sick so these kids tried to sneak out of the town and these monsters showed up and scared them back into their houses. Long story short, they finally snuck out and saw that it was actually in the 2000's and they had no idea what electricity or any of the modern inventions were... so the town went into panic and the band got a 2 the next year. sad. i know. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. Will somebody please shed some light on this? The story: That year Crockett decided it would be a good practical joke to tie up their band directer and stick a flute(as well as a few other things I won't mention) up their butt. It was the day before State. The director being furious -and rightfully so- decided not to take the band the competition. But determined as they were, the whole band found a way to make it to the competition; even without missing a single person. When the director got wind of this, he rushed down to State and tried to sabotage the performance by running on the field and doing crazy fists. Punching at any students that crossed his path. Left and right! One-two combos being thrown around like beads on mardi gras! Despite all this, the band hit their last chord and finished the show. And it was glorious. And that's the story of how Crockett won the whole State competition.

Xenon
ahaha very funny. Crockett never won state. No, but they did make State Finals 3 times (2nd, 3rd, and 5th place finishes) leading up to the infamous 1993, after which they started being given 2nd divisions. Let's just let this go and give this great program the respect it is due.

drippin_tuba2010
You are all stupid and uneducated. Everyone who's anybody knows that '93 was the year that Crockett was selected by the great Lord Xenu to be his sacrificial band. The members begged and pleaded to let them at least finish marching season. The great Lord Xenu, being a kind Lord, allowed them this indulgence. The day after the State Competition, the great Lord Xenu descended from his dwelling on his ship that looks a lot like a B-52 without jets to devour his sacrifice. He started with the Seniors. Montoya was one of the lucky few who survived to march another year. Unfortunately, the Directors of the band fled, fearing for their lives, crippling the band until the next time the great Lord Xenu returns for his sacrifice.
