Football 🏈 Halftime Shows

We all love watching our bands halftime shows during football season….

But what opponents does your football team have this season that you are looking forward to see the other team’s  band?

Rockwall

Looking forward to seeing (no particular order)

1) Berkner

2) Lewisville

3) Lake Travis

4) Forney

5) Heath

6) Longview (I think military marching band)

I am not able to go to every single FB game, but I do try to watch all other bands via fan videos, or livestreams. 

Lumberton would be #1 even if I did not graduate from the school and was a part of the program 😁 (I will be including the Date on when Lumberton plays the school)

And these bands are ranked on who I am most looking forward to see. There is a big gap between #2 and #3 just because I am very very intrigued to see how the big 3 in Southeast Texas (For those that don't know, its Lumberton, Bridge City, & LCM) will do at 4A Area C as it is one of the toughest areas in all of the classifications (IN MY OPINION).

Livingin the Leander ISD, I am fortunate. I get to see Cedar Park, Vandegrift, Leander, Vista Ridge, and Rouse multiple times a year. I choose which game to go see based on the bands 😅

That’s a whole other thread possibility. What football matchups would you go just for the halftime band battle. Wait, that might be most games haha 

What if after each halftime performance they had judges and announced the winning band  

Can we trademark this?

This is the best idea ever. We should honestly put this into practice. Or maybe get the student section of each school (if y’all do that idk if you do) to vote but that might be biased idk- just spitballing here haha!

I say pitch in a little and get a judge that is use to judging. Give feedback as they approach contest season. However, you know uil would jump in, regulate, and take the fun away. 😂

Quite the band district, for sure. 
 

Maybe when I retire from the day job I can convince Dave Campbells Texas football to do a band edition and let me write for them.

Just start it on your own!  That's how Dave Campbell did it.

Or you could go the route Daniel Vaughn did with respect to writing about BBQ.  He spent a lot of time independently researching and writing about it, and then eventually Texas Monthly brought him on staff as their "BBQ Editor."  You could be the new Texas Monthly "Marching Band Editor."

I am part of the Farmersville marching band and I don't know exactly what day, but we go against north lamar at a football game and I'm really excited to see their halftime show. Since now Farmersville is in the same area, I believe this will put into perspective the challenge that awaits us in the future. I've always loved the North Lamar band and I'm really looking forward to their program this year.

I don’t see why not, if you are passionate about this give it a shot.
