  2. I saw there wasn't any predictions for class 5A for different areas so I wanted to create a thread! I hope to see some entertaining predictions!
  3. I still can’t believe that there are contests this fall for EVERY single class in UIL! What a year. The 6A state marching contest will be held in the Alamodome on Monday, November 8 with prelims lasting all day long followed by finals on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 9. As a reminder, the 2A class bands will have prelims the morning of Tuesday the 9th with finals being held that evening after the completion of the 6A class. The 4A class competition is to be held all day on Wednesday, November 10.

  5. Hey, after witnessing this phenomenal season, with records being broken and new bands having breaking seasons, what bands should we look out for next season, and do we have any expectations for the newest bands to break out?
  6. Since the 2019 year is pretty much over i would like to move on to the 2020 marching season. I go to Community high school and next year i will be a senior and it will also be a state year. With my school constantly getting better every year i honestly believe we will advance to the state competition next year.To keep up with next year i would like to use this forum to post predictions and results from 4A schools across Texas.
  7. I know its early, but does anyone have any predictions yet? I'm very excited for this upcoming 5A state competition since last year's 6A competition was so great
  8. Anyone have any predictions, or opinions about 5a state this year?
  9. Area F schools, information, predictions.
  10. Never too early to talk about Area C. Many schools like Midlothian Red Oak North Forney FORNEY POTEET HIGHLAND PARK
  11. I know this post will be a little long, and it's a little out of place, but I just want to share my thoughts on the War Eagle band. I know a lot of kids from ORHS read this (especially my favorite bass clarinet player, hey dude!!!), and I want them to know how proud I am. They made state for the first time in school history! I'd be lying if I said I didn't get emotional, and even a little jealous. They've come so far, and I'm so excited to see where they go from here. As ORHS alumni, I never got to experience state. Putting our hearts and souls into a show and receiving no reward for it hurt. It really hurt to not hear our name get called, and it hurt even more to hear our band director tell us, through teary eyes, that she is proud no matter what. So I hope that these band kids are reveling in their accomplishment. I hope they are celebrating not only for themselves, but for the classes before them that never got to experience the greatness that they're standing in. I hope as they walk into the Alamodome, they take a minute to let everything sink in; the dream that we desired finally came true. They worked harder than ever before, putting in more time and effort than I ever did, and they stole the show. This is the highest honor that a marching band can ever receive, and they deserve every second of it. Oak Ridge is finally breaking out in the band world because of wonderful kids, wonderful staff, and, of course, an amazing, spectacular, Bright and Beautiful show.
  12. Any thoughts on who will make it to Area in Area C this year?
  13. Heard that there is a possiblity that Area contest (at least for area c) will be moved to Monday because of rain. Any updates/opinions on this? Not sure if it's true, just a rumor.
  14. Any predictions or thoughts about the upcoming state contest in November? Im thinking Leander ISD is gonna sweep once again. But some schools are going to provide plenty of stiff competition. - Waxahachie - Forney (LOL) - Connally - Poteet - Dripping Springs - Frisco Wakeland - Others...
  15. Just curious as to what people's predictions may be for the 2015 UIL 5A State Marching Band Contest (competitors, finalists, medalists, etc.)
  16. Hey folks! Hope everything is good with everyone. So, we're basically at the peak of the marching band season and I thought that we could maybe discuss a little about how you all think Area/State will look like this season. Of course, you can say that it's still a lil too early to make those type of predictions but there's been contests to give us enough insight and resource as to where we think bands are at this point. What programs do you all think are Area Finals/State qualifying contenders? Who has impressed you so far? Will there be any new faces, any up-and-comings or will the typical reigning programs do it again? I'm eager as to what you all have to say. Please keep it classy, thank you.
  17. I know it's been a while since State Competition already, but I just wanted to know what some of y'alls favorite shows were. Just state why it was your favorite like b/c of the music, marching, style, energy etc. This doesn't mean it has to be a finalists band or had to be performed flawlessly, just your favorite one. Please no hating on other schools, these are just opinions.
  18. You really can't base your opinions on area rankings because not all of you know what the judges did. They could have favored you and had one bad judge. So predicting from your own expierence watching the shows, what do you predict for state?
  19. I am courious about the make up of this years 4A Area D. In 2011 it was such a strong competitive area; does area D still have the same line up?
