  1. That was a questionnaire send to all Frisco parents and students to assist with long term planning in the district. Wakeland's enrollment is at capacity but predicted to go down over the next couple of year's.
  2. There is no plan for any of the Frisco schools to go to 6a any time soon.
  3. Interesting to see McKinney North placing this high. Don't get me wrong I think they have an amazing show, just didn't think it would be perceived this well by UIL judges. Definitely shows how UIL is shifting more towards BOA.
  4. We are in the way to Melissa and just passed an accident with what looks to be one of Walnut Grove's buses 🙁 I hope everybody is ok and they will make it in time.
  5. After seeing McKinney North this weekend I am wondering how well they will be doing. How do you judge a show like that? It's cute and entertaining, but not a marching band show in my opinion.
  6. Interesting! I keep stalking their page and post the right one when it becomes available.
  7. Apparently, this was an old schedule. From the Wylie web page.
  8. That's where Wakeland's band director went, I think. Will be interesting to see how quickly he can build up this new program.
  9. I think Lebanon Trail has a fair chance too. As some posted before Wakeland has all new directors, will be interesting to see if they can come together that quickly.
  10. TMEA Honor Band Results (Updated as results can be verified) 2024 TMEA Conference 5A Honor Band: Lone Star High School Wind Symphony Frisco, Texas 2nd Place - Roma HS 3rd Place - Friendswood HS 4th Place - Rouse HS 5th Place - Forney HS 6th Place - Cedar Park HS 7th Place - Lebanon Trail HS 8th Place - McCallum HS 9th Place - Summit HS 10th Place - Richland HS 2024 TMEA Conference 3C Honor Band: Henry Middle School Honors Band Cedar Park, Texas
  11. That and it's awful for logistics. Getting stuff in and out of that stadium is a major pain.
  12. I heard there where multiple people that complained, with right. No need to start a witch hunt.
  13. Lovejoy god downgraded a couple of years ago because they started practicing their show early. What good are rules if they are not enforced? Rules level the playing field.
  14. As I said in the other thread I agree on the unfairness of the timeline. They should at least have put it under review right away and hold back on the rating. I don't quite getting where you are coming from when you say it was 'technically' fair. Just time their show. They would have never made it in under 8 minutes even without problems.
  15. Quite some bands do this early in the season when they don't have the entire show down yet. Minimum requirement is 5 minutes.
  16. I agree on the part that the rule violation wasn't called out right away. That timeline is a bit questionable on the UIL part. But they should have known that they would be in trouble with a show that's 8:30 to start with. I'm sad for the kids since this wasn't on them in any way.
  17. Wakeland might have had some technical issues but went over way more than that. I was in attendance and I would say they where at least 1 minute over time.y And if you time their DFW BOA performance their show is already over 8 minutes. I think they simply gambled and lost. It's also worth to mentioned that they initially got a sweepstake 1 rating which wasn't charged until this afternoon.
