  1. Flowermound-Fly: Great dance work and saber solos as we begin our journey in the sky. Love the color of the flags, really helps the colorful tarp pop. I do wish the uniforms weren't all black, thought they represent I believe the blackbird motioned in the song, so they help with the GE department from that standpoint. Talent is seen throughout this group, excellent usage of the props, great soloist in the middle section as we begin to build into our large rifle work. Gold flags work great with the black uniforms as we move into our big flag section mixed with rifles groups in the corners. I think there could me some more emotion expression, but they are pretty clean, tons of potential in this show, amazing job Flomo!!

  2. Cedar Park- the ever-expanding void and all of its beauty: Some space-feeling body work to start us off as we begin to hear the Interstellar theme and introduce out saber soloist, followed by void of complex rifle tosses. I do wish there was a bit lighter color, it's a dark show, both theme, tarp and the uniforms, however, it doesn't take away by the amazing performance these kids are putting on. Soloist were on fire, and they do very well introduce new concepts as the void starts to entrap us, growing in size over time. We move to end with a big flag group moment, trying to fight the void, but we are pulled towards its beauty as it sucks us in. Tons of GE, great performance all around, hope we get to see them again, amazing job Cedar Park!!

Highland Park- just keep swimming: Some beautiful body work to start us out with some lovely John Mackey. Uniforms match very well with the incredible props, amazing flag work to go along with the bubble ball props. Soloist were great all around, love the big red flag that covers the performs and allows them to grab their rifles as we transition into some rifle action. Some big and very colorful flag work to end this sea show, with the members ending swimming on the tarp. Fun show that has some big potential, just needs some cleaning, but all around really good, amazing job HP!

Azle- Bridge: What an opening moment with the saber soloist tossing on the rotating block! Very beautiful white uniforms that contrast the colorful tarp and backdrops. Very colorful flag work that's executed very well as we move into a big rifle moment. GE is present throughout, and the soloist killed it. Great prop usage as we change flag colors to go with the backdrops and move into a big flag moment that captures your attention with a single rifle soloist in the middle throwing down. I mean wow, that was one heck of a performance to close or SA competition, definitely will be seeing them again, amazing job Azle!!

  3. Mount Pleasant- look up, look out: Very intriguing start with all the large Phone props, as we start to receive some notifications, our attention is turned towards some amazing saber work! Love the introduction of the flags in the background to add a nice taste of color as we continue some awesome saber work. Wow, very cool moment with the flags acting as barriers during the saber tosses. Some incredible group saber work as we move towards the end and realize we need more than phones in our life, we come back with some more beautiful flag work. A VERY talented group that we will most likely be seeing again, another favorite of mine, wonderful job Mount Pleasant!!

Wylie- on the rooftops of London: Really intriguing start with the big red umbrellas paired with the black chimney uniforms as we move into some clean saber work. Great duet of flag and saber work, really love how the blue adds a nice touch of color to the red umbrellas. Great rifle work in the middle as we bring back the umbrellas to counter the coming storm. Great job of hiding the larger part of the group as we move into a big red flag and umbrella moment. Their achieving some very difficult while also maintaining a strong GE presence. Yeah @JazzRunthey were Incredible!!!

Coppell HS A- safe and sound: some nice dance work to open up as we bring out some pretty white-gold flags for our first big group moment. Great solo rifle moments integrated throughout the big moments, and the soloists killed it! Great usage of the props, and great background flag work whenever the rifles take the main stage. Really like how the uniforms look against the tan-wood tarp. Great overall show with plenty of enjoyable moments, great job Coppel A!

  4. Mansfield-tempted: very cool take and the Adam and Eve story! Some very impressive body work to start as off as we get some rifle tosses around the large tree prop in the middle of the tarp. Love how they use rifles and sabers to show the good and evil as we must decide which road to follow. Plenty of flag work in the background to add some color to this dark story. Soloist were on point, gold flags at the end really helped bring so much needed color to close out the story. Great job Mansfield!

Lake Highlands- Beetlejuice: Incredible male soloist to open is off in this very dark world. I feel like I'm watching a Disney villain movie, with the scary music, purple flags mixed with the green uniforms and hypnotizing tarp. Body work really adds a lot to the show as we now move into a lighter feeling with some big gold flag work as we end the madness. Theme is expressed throughout the entire show, with so much going on all the time. Very fun show, great job Lake Highlands!

Lovejoy-Lotus: Super proud alumni moment!! One of the best of all of SA today, I mean they were CLEAN! Plenty of bodywork throughout that expresses the show's theme, solo moments were on point, as well as the big group flag and rifle moments. I see why there having a great season so far. Tons of difficult stuff the nailed, and I'd be shocked if we don't see them again. Amazing job Lovejoy!

  5. James Martin- shrouded in white: Great dance segment to open the show as we move into some small group flag work. Rifle soloists follow and are very clean. Great usage of the props throughout and the uniforms really help convey the theme. Love how they follow big flag moments by big rifle moments and vice versa, great saber work in the middle, great start to SA round 4. Great job James Martin!

Burleson Centennial-from the front porch: Love this opening with the hand fan props as we move into some rifle solos, and my goodness they were killing them. Great flag work on the side that adds some great color to the rather dark tarp, which is very contradictory to the yellow uniforms. Love the color change in the group flag moments, helps add a bit of flare to the scene. A lot to like about this show, amazing job BC!

Bryan-Mr. Monopoly: Love the groovy start with the red rifles and paper money flags, adds a lot to the story. Their male soloist was an absolute treat to watch throughout the show. More colored rifles, looks like a rainbow of them, but it helps make the multicolored uniforms pop. Great body work, and just a really fun show concept they are executing quiet well, tons of GE in this show. Oh, and look, it's the Police, guess were going to jail! Could be seeing them tomorrow? Great job Bryan!!

  6. Northwest Rankin- a 100 years: Welcome to Dallas, Texas Northwest Rankin! Amazing Flag soloist in the start, bodywork is very well-together. Small flag groups were incredible as we introduce our saber moments. Some nervous in the saber soloist in the middle section, but they got it together in the end with an incredible big flag moment in the end. Super fun experience for this group, and I'd love to see them again tomorrow. Amazing job NR, and thanks for making the trip down, very talented group!

Frisco Liberty- fly away: These uniforms are so cool, really love the arm clothes, helps amplify the theme a lot. Lots of great solo moments, their big flag work was the highlight for me. The different colors were a nice touch, and the body work was very well done, great job Liberty!

Frisco Emerson- the greatest of all time: Fun gymnastics show! Great dance work as we kickoff some rifle solos/duets. The dance work around the edge of the tarp while the saber moments are going on helps bring more to the table as we bring out the flags for some excellent flag and saber combos that help bring out the theme. Big flag moments were on point, a group I could see being towards the top very soon, amazing performance Emerson, and welcome to WGI!

  7. Prosper-Synth Wave: Prosper! Great dance opener with some very in time choreo, followed by some on point rifle solos. Flag work was absolutely stunning, and soloist were on point! Great usage of the small stage props. Each person put's so much emotion into the performance, and it shows. All the big moments were very well together, just so much goodness in this show, amazing job Prosper!

The Colony-spangle: Great dance work to start the show. Another group I think has a much better run. Soloist did great, but overall, some very small drops that sometimes took away from the big picture. Flag work was great throughout, and the theme is very well presented. Hope they get another run because the show has a ton of potential, but either way great job TC!

Allen- autumn leaves: Great opening statement as we transition into a solo saber moment, love the glitter shots to represent the leaves. Love the flag work entangled with some saber solos. A couple minor drops, but when they reach the end of the season, this show is gonna really click, plenty of show off moments, just a tad bit of cleaning to do. Ton's of GE though, amazing job Allen!

  8. Hebron-If I only: Amazing opening rifle work, very in time as we transition into some beautiful flag work in the back, bringing some color as they mix with the rifles. Body work is great as the sabers and rifles come out parallel with each other, great flag soloist in the middle. The theme is seen throughout the show, they do great at bringing out the flags for the big ending. Very talented group, amazing job Hebron! Love this show a lot.

Melissa- fast car: Really enjoyable show! Great dance skills in this group. Flag work was very together, just a great designed show. All the red, while it's part of the show's GE, does sometimes overpower moments of the performance, but the execution is there. Lots of good things here, we might be seeing them in finals, great job Melissa!

Red Oak- on the farm: Cute little farm show! Soloist did great, some dirt, but when it's clean this show is gonna be great. Love the different flags and the usage of the props, great job Red Oak!

  9. Royce city: missed the name but they did great. A little bit of nervous in some solo moments, but they killed it overall, very entertaining production. Great job RC!

Guyer-bit by bit: very colorful show! Felt maybe incomplete, not a lot of saber/rifle work, but the flag work was great. Very bright colors which really helped bring out the theme of the show. Great job Guyer!

Boswell-don't mean a thing: Very fun jazz show! Love the body work in this show a lot as we start with a great flag duet that moves into some group flag work. The different styles of jazz music went very well coordinated with the weapon/color changes. Feel like it could have had a bit more difficult moments, felt like some parts left you wanting more, but overall, well done, great job Boswell!

Thanks for providing all of the great summaries! I appreciate y’all taking the time to do this today. I’m following along, and hoping I’ll be able to go to WGI Dallas finals tomorrow if my schedule allows 🤞🏽

Btw, I had the opportunity to see Wylie High’s Winterguard preview last month and all 3 of their groups looked fantastic. Their feeder program is looking strong! I hope their varsity guard has a great run this evening.

I'll make sure to pay extra attention for you!

The scores at these regionals are honestly pretty crazy, for Dallas McKinney Boyd, Garland, and Rock Hill are dominating the SA groups so far, Pearland is decimating Houston for now, and Onyx A getting an 80+ this early in IA, granted Im not super knowledgeable on WGI but we got some pretty heavy hitters already, finals tonight (I think) is gonna be pretty crazy!

Finals is tomorrow but yeah these guards have been absolutely killing it today, will be an exciting finals for sure!!

  12. Little Elm-The Joke: UNBELIVABLE!!! This SO class is going to be so tight, because that was ANOTHER outstanding performance! The togetherness of this group is just insane for mid-February! Opening dance moment was so impressive, Love the moving square with the mixed weapons in the middle section. Soloist once again were on fire, leaving almost no room for errors, theme was conveyed throughout a ton. Another super clean performance, wow Little Elm, just wow!

Timber Creek- Rock, Paper, Scissor: Such a cute show!! Love the actual games of RPS going on in the start! Love the props and uniforms a lot, really helps bring out the GE in this show. Guard was fantastic! Plenty of small groups that were excellent, as well as the big flag/saber moments. Definitely have a cleaner run, wasn't dirty by any means, just some drops I know they will fix tomorrow, but an incredible performance to finish up SO, amazing job Timber Creek!!

  13. Ronald Regan-full circle: Wow Ronald Reagan! Lovley body work to open up this very intriguing show. Love the saber work at the beginning, very in time as we develop some very beautiful flag work. Some mixed weapon work in the middle section with plenty of soloist as we build and go full circle in the end with a big and well executed flag moment. Love the design very much, amazing job Regan!

Marcus- The Arrow plane: HELLO?!?!?!? IT"S ONLY FEBUARY!!! I mean, WOW Marcus!!! Extremely clean. Just such a perfectly designed and executed show! Great body work in the opening, soloist KILLED it, the big flag moment was so together, I'm just absolutely blown away. They killed every aspect of that performance, and I can't wait to see that again tomorrow, amazing job Marcus!!

Coppell- In Fantasia: WOW, just wow! Love the theme of this show so much, and the GE is very high. Soloist nailed it, plenty of well-done dance work that was incredible, big flag moments were very well together, I mean wow. They could be pretty close with Marcus if I'm being honest, really depends on the judges but that was an amazing performance from Coppell!!

  14. Pine Tree- Baby Grand: Well, hello there Pine Tree!! Great body work as we move into a full circle of rifle tosses. GE is very high, with tons of expressive body work, great big flag moments that really added to the story, as well as some great small group rifle moments. Definitely a crowd favorite and a show that we may very well see in finals, they really killed that run. Great job Pine Tree!

V.R.Eaton- From the ashes: Great overall performance. The uniform change was nice and unexpected, added some great color to a dark show. Really good flag work, and some great solo moments, great job Eaton.

Have to miss SA flomo but I'll be back after the break

  15. Friso Independence-and then there were one: Of the start you'd think the show didn't fit the title, but the ending is where it all connects. Great performance by a very talented group, love the music variation, great flag work to kick us off, soloist were fantastic, and the emotion was conveyed by each performer very well, as we get to the top of the snowy mountain, where we see the "last one" of the climbers reach the top. Loved this show a lot, amazing job Independence!

Colleyville Heritage- Umbra: Amazing body work by our opening soloist. Some very well executed saber work as we move into a mix of saber, flag and rifle work, all given their own space and each member executing very well! I really enjoy how the mix the 3 together at times, while also having them apart. Another show I very much enjoyed, wonderful job CH!

Rockwall-The Bermuda Triangle: STUNNING performance! Amazing small group work at the start to get is going, love the big triangle formations with the amazing soloist in the middle of them as the triangle moves. Great flag work and just an overall amazing designed show that was executed very well, amazing job Rockwall!!

  16. Walnut Grove- What if I fly: Welcome to WGI Walnut Grove, and an incredible first showing! Very colorful and emotional performance, with so much going on throughout the show. Loved how the opener slowly introduced the guard, middle section very chaotic with much going on as our character is trying to find themselves, and then we finish with amazing and well-coordinated flag work as they find themselves soaring in the skies. This young group is already very talented and could see them as a top group very soon, great job WG!

Mount Pleasant JV.A-power of music: great performance all around. Very expressive flag work in the start, with great solo moments throughout. Plenty of variation in the body work, and some wonderful expression of the theme, great job Mount Pleasant

Mckinney Boyd- how long before I'm dust: WOW!! Very impressive body work in the beginning leading into some very hard solo rifle work that they nailed! They are not only attempting but achieving some extremely difficult solo stuff. Very talented group that I think we will most defiantly be seeing again tomorrow. Blown away by how clean that was considering the difficulty of what they are trying to do. Wow Boyd, that was incredible!

  17. Keller Central: amazing opening group! Circle show with plenty of individual and group moments, a couple rifle drops, however the GE was very high, and the girls were moving so well coordinated with each other, great and very expressive flag work, great job KC!

Marshall-Shattered: This has to be the best 7 member guard I've ever seen! Their male soloist was killing it, and the theme was conveyed throughout. great body work, they were just running it down! I would love to get to see that again tomorrow, amazing job Marshall!

Aledo-Flowers: great talent throughout this program! The theme is a little hard for me to understand, but the girls did great! Really love the flag work, some very hard and well executed saber/rifle moments. Great work Aledo!

From what I was made aware of, They certainly are changing stuff as I mentioned yesterday. I was extremely curious so I asked my director and that’s when he told me what I am making you aware of. (he also asked me who you were since he sees you alot, mainly on the forums im assuming to supervise my school’s kids)

In simple terms a someone who just absolutely loves the activity, and having a big musical background has helped make my passion even bigger and better.

Currently I’m a sophomore at Baylor studying business, but I’m still doing marching/concert band and am involved with other musical programs here.

Honestly, yeah, its pretty insane that 5A B is just on a different wavelength than this area for virtually no reason, right now any of the top 5 at B could take first here lol, maybe 6

I am expecting HP to move to C, if we added another 5A powerhouse to B than I cant see the top 5 switching around that much, so it would make sense to throw em here, I dont know a ton about this area so could be wrong

No it makes sense, and I really hope they are some changes
