I agree with you 100%. I definitely hope they can learn from this. Those kids were all troopers and especially those that had to perform so late in that weather. It is my daughters senior year and her last performance. But we will move on with her senior year and focus on the memories already made and the ones to come! It doesn’t always go the way we want it to and it hurts in the moment. Lol All those kids work hard and want just as bad. I wish those that did made it the best of luck and no matter what hope they make some amazing memories! I totally agree on the concession stand also! That was crazy. Glad y’all have a nice generator now too!! Lol

There was just so much that was frustrating last night and while I may not agree with everything, I don’t want to take anything away from the kids. Every band and every kid worked hard all season. I just feel like UIL didn’t handle it right.

I’m not sure but that was the make up date on the UIL website.

Yes and that’s why they should have postponed it. We sat for three hours in a delay and it was way worse when they decided to finish it. If anything they should have taken the top 7 today and finals tomorrow. They have a make up day so they should use it.

No a couple bands performed in the pouring rain and lighting. It was actually unbelievable that they allowed it and didn’t postpone. They had those kids perform in the pouring rain and cancelled finals.

I’m hoping you’re right. My daughter is with Magnolia. We’ve never been to state or even finals for area. We are all pretty excited about their show this year and hoping it’s our year!

Just curious, do you know what the new judging system is?

I’m hoping someone has scores too. I know Magnolia was 4th because that’s our band lol but I wasn’t able to stay and see the results.

I did feel like they had a great run. Being honest I’m obviously partial to them since my daughter is in their band lol but I do feel we had a great run. I thought Porter was amazing.

Congrats to all the finalist and those that advanced to state. I don’t feel great about the judging either. Not just for our school but others as well. Thought for sure Magnolia would at least advance to finals. Some heartbroken kids as I’m sure there were many others.

Willis is correct. We just saw them Tuesday at Region.
