I was asking about that earlier. It felt super thick and even uneven in places yesterday. I know tons of people ,including myself, tripped during our show.
Super proud of Tompkins for Best Guard, Brass, and Percussion! By far it was our best run through.
ALSO, out of all the bands we could've share a tie with, I think Seven Lakes is the best. So much support for each other after and during.
katyisd schools are hosting, I know for sure they took volunteers from tompkins, but I don't know who else. I don't believe they got enough, that could be it.
I have videos of our run through last night if you'd like to see them. That game was something else, everything went unusually well for us. I'm hoping we can take our energy from then to tomorrow
We were walking back to legacy after our finals run while Langham was performing. I just remember everyone being so confused as to why the trumpet was that loud. I wish you guys the best of luck this week and hopefully you can come back with a bang.
What is the best interaction you've had with a band member from a different school?
My favorite interaction was after prelims at BOA Houston 2018 at dinner. We were eating in the same space and one of their members noticed me spacing out and offered me their food. We talked for a bit and bonded over our performances. My school technically has a rivalry with Seven Lakes and you always hear a bunch of trash talk like "Seven Snakes" and etc. It was a very simple, small thing, but I thought it was so nice to defy the enemy stereotype.
Was your band the band that had the malfunction with the trumpet mic? You guys sat next to our band when the finals results were being announced, it was really saddening even to other bands.. hopefully nothing happens like that again
I can't remember if it was Bridgeland or Langham though..
