  1. Who knows really. It may change because it's not like it was published intentionally.
  2. Yeah..kinda hard to not vote for Auburn. That drill and concept with the lights was awesome
  3. UIL Realignment is just around the corner. I have no idea what the cutoffs are going to be, but it does look like some schools will be moving up and down yet again. Here is what was submitted to UIL in October https://www.uiltexas.org/files/alignments/Enroll_all_24_26.pdf?fbclid=IwAR30v3XpMzOONL3rBlbgSh313p6L-3x-FbmPLtun4xbZnKP4YQTzzCJkt-I
  4. Holy crap! His problem isn't the guard. The guard at Round Rock is fantastic.
  5. This too. Yeah, this is ALL hard. I mean, didn't both Westwood and Cedar Ridge beat Bowie at Area and BOA Austin?
  6. Didn't Westwood place 16th at State, 20th at BOA SA, and not to mention finishing 3rd at BOA St. Louis? Just wondered why they were left off
  7. I think I heard someone WEST may be going next year. But then again I could have been dreaming that.
  8. Really loved Leander ISD's shows this year. Of course, I love them every year. Those schools have always been so supportive of RRISD schools and vice versa. I remember when I first moved to NW Austin and saw the Cedar Park band, I was so blown away! Congrats again. Can't wait for Glenn to get up there and have ALL of LISD blowing everyone away.
  9. I wonder where CR and Westwood finished. Wow. No Pearland either?
  10. Hearing y'all say that about Westwood makes me so happy. I was in a meeting and didn't get a chance to see them, but I of course love them unconditionally. They had their last practice last night and the parents were all emotional. It was so sweet to see on social media. So happy for them.
  11. Indeed. Why do props and flags and riffles matter? All of this wreaks of sour grapes.
  12. I like this list. The Westwood kids were exhausted at state. They rolled in at 4:30AM on Monday morning from St. Louis, got a nap, then headed to San Antonio. Really looking forward to seeing their show. And same for Cedar Ridge! I didn't realize their director left this summer. I think maybe Rouse may finish a bit higher. It's going to be fun!! Good luck to all of the bands.
  13. This was the first time I've gotten to see Vandy all season. Very nice. BUT HEBRON...OMG...LOVED LOVED LOVED THAT PERFORMANCE.
  14. As a contest announcer, BLAME THE BAND! We follow the script. The script has us start the announcement 45 seconds before their 8 minute timer starts. If the band starts playing, we still have to talk at 8 minutes before.
  15. See, normally I'd agree with this whole premise, however, we are all going on what is being said here, on a message board. Not to say it isn't absolutely true, but it's still message board fodder and I think that I know one of y'all in real life. So color me skeptical of everything I read on the internet. We don't know the details. We don't know EXACTLY what happened. We know something something something something OMG TIME something CTJ something something. OK. Have a great one y'all.
  16. And knowing this, you STILL are on the soapbox regarding CTJ getting robbed and Wax getting disqualified? I'm going to ask all of you all something. How many of you have volunteered to work in the press box to work the clock or work as an announcer? It's all done by parents and volunteers. No one gets paid to do it. Maybe the announcers get to do it at the state level but that's it. Knowing that, the level of pressure to do this correctly for the timekeepers is high. I remember the first year I worked as an announcer for a competition, the timekeepers would start the clock as soon as the band started. We had to correct them on more than one occasion and remind them they get that time regardless. We had to restart the clock for a band at another competition. Why? Because people make mistakes all the time because they are human.
  17. You really can't compare UIL judging to BOA judging. It's really different. Dripping Springs has been a UIL powerhouse for UIL and has only recently made the change to be a more BOA focused band.
  18. OK dumb question here. Looking at the recaps, what does CON and ACV mean?
  19. I'll also add that in years past, they have been lax at the state competitions when it comes to time. It isn't helpful to the kids for us fans to say that anyone was ROBBED. We aren't the judges. We also don't know what happened behind the scenes. For all we know, the clock at the dome was off and all the fodder about Waxahatchie being DQ'ed was just that..fodder. Congrats to all those bands who made finals. Way to go CTJ, Westwood with very little rest, and Dripping Springs for repping Area D so very well by being the next bands out. I have no doubt that they will work even harder this week to be ready for BOA on Friday.
