  1. I'm going to list some lesser known shows that not everyone has probably heard of or saw. 1: SFA 2021- After this band was slowly growing in numbers for years, they got hit super hard by the pandemic, and had the smallest band they have had since 1996. When I first saw the show, I was unsure what the season would look like, but when I saw them in area finals, I was shocked. I had never seen a more refined product from SFA, and it was nice to see SFA going so strong even with a massive cut in numbers and talent. 2: Westfield 2019- When I was in high school, Westfield was in a very tough time. They rarely marched more than 60 winds, rarely made finals at any contest, and always had holes littering the field, so when I heard the massive wall of sound from them in Friendswood prelims, my heart got very warm. 3: Churchill Fulshear 2021- this program opened in 2016 with a great staff from day 1, and it was clear that everything had finally fallen into place. They will be a regional finalist very soon.
  2. Watch Westfields 2014 show and then watch their 2019 and 2021 shows. They are rising in the ranks again very fast.
  3. I am curious as to who NISD's fine arts director is. LOTS of good things going on across the board there.
  4. Anderson is a sleeper right now. Early season in 2021 they performed at a higher level than I have seen from them in maybe a decade, but sadly they sort of fell flat late in the season. If they can keep that momentum going, they are going to do very very big things.
  5. Winston Churchill got hit really hard by the pandemic numbers wise, but I still feel like they performed at really high levels. I think they will be fine, and should be comfortably in finals here.
  6. I think that the first four and last four bands in semis are the "next 8" scoring bands from prelims. If that is the case, Norwin was one of the top 11 bands from their prelims day.
  7. SFA put out some serious sounds for a band their size. Beautiful performance!
  8. When did that happen? I was in close proximity to the SFA kids and I saw nothing of the sort, or anything close to it.
  9. I know they didnt advance, but I just have to give major props to Westfield. This is the best they have been in easily over a decade. I might have had them much higher than they ended up, but I am just happy the Westfield band program is among the best again. The same goes for Spring. Wonderful things are going on in that district.
  10. Cy Falls is having a very slept on resurgence year. I really wish they were taking more than 4.
  11. Quite a few actually. Flowermound, Weiss, Wylie East, Burleson Centennial, Rouse, and maybe a few others.
  12. Kempner is a lock for finals. VERY strong this year
  13. I saw them at BOA. Quite honestly I dont think they are as strong as they were in 2019.
  14. 1: Friendswood 2: Fulshear 3: Foster 4: Kempner 5: Barbers Hill 6: Jordan 7: La Porte
  15. 1: Klein Oak 2: Oak Ridge 3: College Park 4: Klein Collins 5: Westfield 6: North Shore 7: Spring 8: Tomball 9: Klein Cain 10: Kingwood
  16. Look out for Westfield, probably the strongest, most agressive performance I have ever seen from a band of under 70 winds.
  17. 1: Porter 2: Magnolia 3: Galena Park 4: College Station 5: Crosby 6: A&M Consolidated 7: Caney Creek
  18. So so so happy for Porter. From 21st out of 23 at BOA North Houston to placing very VERY comfortably in finals at a comp with tons of Conroe finalists. Such a strong program.
