In my book Penstriped is the GOAT
And it was meant to be their 2020 show if the pandemic wasn't a thing. I remember talking with their percussion director who showed me a MIDI of the opener and I was shocked. Fun fact, the opener didn't change much at all from 2020 to the final version

While I thoroughly enjoyed their show this year, I do feel that 2021 and 2022 were probably stronger productions, albeit not by much. Congratulations to all the bands!
Firmly believe their 2021 show would have won at GN had they have gone that year. That show was a powerhouse all season and would have really shaken up the national competition. Wish they would go to Nats every two years or so but its a huge financial hurdle for them and the kids.

Youāre not the only one, but am I surprised no. Do I think they are impossible to beat, no. It wonāt be easy, but I think if Hebron or Avon really lock in, one or both can do it. Someone on Hornrank made a really good point with Hebron in 2015 winning with the record that year then dropping to 3rd. Obviously that may and probably was heavily due to the fact they had to go first, but anything can happen tonight.Ā
It most definitely had a lot to do with Hebron going first and Broken Arrow going last. They implemented the current finals slot rule the following season due to how that played out.
That was my freshman year at Hebron and I still remember the shock on all of our faces when our directors told us we would be going first. I will forever imagine āwhat wouldāve happenedā if the current finals slotting rule was already in place for that competition.

Hebron in bronze is absolutely wild. Good for them to have some determination going forward the next two weeks up until Grand Nats
