Anyone else feel that this showing relied a lot on name value? It seemed to me there were a few schools that didn't advance that sounded clearly better than a few of the advancing schools

Anyone at the contest(s) that would like to comment on how the performances were? Overall I was impressed the most musically with Friendswood and Clear Lake from region 17, but I'll admit I usually can't tell what's good or bad visually

I was at Region 17's contest all day. If I'm not mistaken, all 6A bands received a Division 1 and will advance to area

I don't know specifics, but if I'm not mistaken Dickinson made state in 2014. And Clear Lake was 11th at Area F in 2014. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think Brook band has a very good sound. Their drumline is amazing but I feel like it's heavily featured because they just aren't there with their winds.

What about Dickinson and Clear Lake? I haven't seen very many shows this season.

Thoughts? I'm interested to see how it plays out with the rezoning.
