Our contest show in 2016 was 9 minutes long and we performed in state finals, and I’ve definitely seen other UIL performances longer than 8 minutes, so does that rule actually have any substance behind it?

So for UIL, can Band performances only be 8 minutes long at the most?

Isn’t it 5 from the odd blocks combined, 5 from the even blocks combined, and then the next best 4?

FloMo places 9th in state finals in 2014.

Keller used Ojos de Brujo in their 2017 show and is using a piece by Lovatt-Cooper this year. I know Hebron has also used Lovatt-Cooper before too

I wouldn’t be surprised if we had 13 of the 14 finalists from last year make finals again, and then Vista Ridge take the last spot. As far as order, I have no idea how to go about predicting.

You’re good! Just wanted to make sure we’re considering all of the bands who could potentially advance to State. Timber Creek was actually 6th in Area finals in 2016 as well. Of course, multiple bands have now been added to the mix, making it even more difficult to predict who will advance to State

Timber Creek was only 0.4 points behind LD Bell at BOA DFW and placed ahead of Prosper, even with their 8:30 am prelims time. I think we should start putting them in the conversation.

Just curious, why is Leander in the 3A classification for BOA, but in the 6A classification for UIL?

This was also Keller’s first time breaking 90 at any competition ever.
