  1. They are great. In my opinion they really didn't add much since Conroe. Musically, outstanding, but there were just too many bands equally as strong musically. Visually, they left something to be desired. I had them as a 12th place prediction. After watching so many good bands, I was afraid they might miss out on finals.
  2. So excited about the next two days! It's going to be great seeing a lot of really good bands. Some thoughts: The Brides: The Woodlands, Marcus, Bell, Bowie will be great as always. Placing somewhere in the top 5. I really think The Woodlands will be crowned. Maid of Honor: CTJ The Bridesmaids: Hebron, Round Rock, Cedar Ridge, Vandegrift. In some order...who knows. Round Rock has all the ingredients. Hebron has a lot of buzz (well deserved). Cedar Ridge has blossomed. Their sound is incredible. Think Cedar Park with a little more GE. Vandy seems poised for a big showing this year. Ring Bearers: Cedar Park, Ronald Reagan. CP sounds incredible as always, but something seems lacking. They will do great at the dome on Tuesday. Reagan has an interesting concept...not sure I know what it is. They do have an amazing field presence. The Out-of-Towners: Blue Springs...What are they bringing to the party? It could be a big surprise!?! The Wedding Crashers: Westlake, Anderson, Churchill, Flower Mound, Woodlands CP, Spring, Plano East, O'Connor, Vista Ridge, Pflugerville, Richland, Haltom. Too many to count... All in all, it's going to be a great party!!! Good luck to everyone!
  3. I think I'd put Round Rock in the "locks" category. Vandegrift, from what I saw at BOA Austin (very impressive), is headed for a BOASA FINALS breakthrough. I also think that unlike last year's early season, Cedar Ridge hasn't shown all their cards yet. Fingers crossed for a breakthrough for them as well.
  4. Yes Round Rock has been around much longer. They have been a great UIL band, but as of 2010 an outstanding BOA style band!
  5. Cedar Ridge opened in 2010, is in its 4th year of existence, and graduated its 1st senior class last year! The students split from Round Rock High (which only recently became somewhat of a powerhouse) and Stony Point which has not competed at a high level. I'd say they are coming along quite nicely.
