since Green Bay got screwed out of the play-offs, and I pretty much hate everyone else... I'll go with Colts. Because I'm a Green Bay fan, and it is my duty to hate and despise anything that starts with Chi and ends with cagobears. -C

well, I would agree if it wasn't the most GE packed show I have ever seen on the field. -C

nope. I love Vanguard. really, I love them with all my heart. I love their 89 show. I believe that Phantom should have won in 89. sorry, I just do. I think that the gap probably should have been the closest in DCI history, because both shows are just about as good as drum corps get. I also believe SCV should have won in 88. -C

it's a good dvd... they have a standstill performance, and two different recordings of the show at finals, plus the 30 minute documentary. And they have some extras like send in the clowns. -C

well, 4th place is still a very good corps. I agree that they need to add a little extra umph to push them into the top 3, and into first. I don't think that includes talent level, because the talent there is just about as good as you can get, and they were performing the heck out of what they were given. Maybe some better written drill. -C

good hornline in 04. and one of the most underrated drumlines of the 2000's. -C

I wasn't talking exclusively about The Cadets. Look at BD lately... in every show since like 01 you can pick this out: duh duh duh dut dut duh duh duh dut dut DAHHHH I'm not saying it's in every corps, but in a lot of them, it is. music just isn't arranged the same in drum corps anymore. I can't really say that it's gotten better or worse (IMO, I liked it better in the 90's.) and for the record, The Cadets 06 ballad was very good. I just wish I would have heard the hornline more than the singer. -C

I wasn't arguing. I just disagree with musical instruments becoming a dieing craft. in the South Carolina equivilent of this forum, we discussed the fact that drum corps don't satisfy a lot of people musically as they used to. That's not because people don't know how to play their instruments, it's because music isn't arranged the same way it used to be. and music programs being cut across the nation isn't because kids don't want to learn, it's because schools recieve poor funding from governments who'd rather pay for the lottery than a decent education. again, no hard feelings... forums are meant for discussion. -C

the instrument isn't becoming the lost craft. Good arrangements of music is becoming a lost craft. -C

I don't really see how a singer can enhance a show, from a "coolness" standpoint. I'd much rather hear a hornline play the song than hear a singer sing it. see also: Crown 2004. After the singing quintet (or maybe quartet), and the horn entrance afterwards... major goosebump moment for the hornline. I didn't care for the singing (although I liked it better than Cadets 06.) -C

right, but about 9 (if not 10) out of every 10 people LIKE VK 92 (which is their best show IMO). MAYBE 2 or 3 out of every 10 liked Cadets 06. -C
