  1. Today
  2. Forney’s is being revealed at Band Banquet on May 4th, I’ll post it once it gets announced!
  3. I know the directors at Forney talked about going to this contest instead of Prosper. I have no word if they decided for or against it, but I’ll ask eventually.
  4. Yesterday
  5. I remember looking at those sheets and seeing a good 6 bands with the same score in one category lol
  6. Such as 2022 where the judges were all over the place
  7. Area judges can be very funky sometimes, love the occasional, 1, 16, 7. 12, 3 for a bands ordinals.
  8. Bridgeland is safe. Other than them, I don’t know that anyone is a “lock” with area judges and such a rapidly rising tide in West Houston. We’ll see!
  9. Atleast we know bridgeland and cy fair are locks for state!😂
  10. Bridgeland won’t reveal until at least may they release late every year
  11. Paetow has been growing steadily over the past few years so it possible.
  12. I think we’re going to see a new wave of finalists this upcoming year, I think Cinco Ranch could be in/out with finals depending on how well this show goes, but I’ll bet on them being in finals. I’m mainly looking at Paetow and Langham Creek to break into finals. I’m just not sure who gets pushed out of finals.
  13. Such as Jordan… I would love to see some new finalist too. It almost been the same finalist since 2020.
  14. I’d really like to see some changes, also a certain favorite to make state who could possibly pull an upset and make history for their program, Atleast in the time they’ve been in 6A.
  15. I’m guessing this unpredictable area is coming true. We have some really interesting shows that could shock us in the end.
  16. I can’t really say I’m sold on Cinco’s show this year? It all depends on how they handle it.
  17. Last week
  18. Even though it probably won't happen, it's possible we could get six to state if everyone makes it past region. At the very least, it eliminates the possibility of only having four go like last year.
  19. Jordan show is so different from their previous shows . They also getting new props and uniform parts to blend with their show
  20. Seeing some of these show reveals, coupled with the shows I know of that haven’t been revealed, this area will probably be a bigger shock than usual. -cinco seems to have gone 180° on design, who knows if that’ll be good for them or not -bridgeland just isn’t clicking yet for me.. I’ll say that it took a while for last year’s to jive too though. I just hope they’re not biting off more than they can chew -cy fair seems to have found their niche and stuck with it. I like their creative ideas that haven’t really been seen before in that capacity in hs bands in their echelon. -Jordan has a much more approachable show this year that’s really going to set them up for success. If they can get their visual program up to 2022 standards when they beat 7L in vis, I could see them turning heads…
  21. I agree, I’m leaning more towards >1 new Texas finalist this year. Directly comparing Friendswood to some of last year’s finalists has me pretty confident in them, furthermore Argyle did beat fwood soooo
  22. Melissa getting 2 Area contest's? That's cool but I do agree with you that its odd
  23. Per Region 24's recommended dates for next year, it appears that this contest will be held at Melissa's stadium. Interesting that they would go with a venue of another school that isn't even competing. I figured that they would've just went with Prosper or McKinley stadium due to shorter distance, but I guess this is also a fine stadium as well (5A Area B is being held here again after bouncing from stadium to stadium the last several years)
  24. It'll be interesting to watch how Vandegrift performs now with Lipman in as the new head director. He's about as good of a choice as anyone could hope for to step into a program with the pedigree of Vandegrift, so I've no doubt they're going to continue to stay on top.
  25. Area I is going to be so interesting this year, I can’t recall when cinco ranch has done a show similar to this theme.
  26. I absolutely love getting to see those moments, truly heartwarming.
  27. That's correct, and yes we did! It's insane how talented these kids are! While everyone waited in their "groups", you could see the kids shaking hands with schools on either side, and just chatting back and forth. It was so good to see that, as simple as it was. The support, encouragement, understanding, and compassion these kids have for each other, regardless of the team/school, is heartening and inspiring.
