2020-2022 UIL Realignment

Recommended Posts

I have a concern regarding the realignments. So in the full list of all schools, it shows Lumberton being in 5A with an enrollment of 1222. However 1222 would make Lumberton still 4A. Just wondering. Might be a fluke.

TMEA will have to change that.  UIL shows Lumberton in 4A.  When the original cutoff numbers were released last November, Lumberton was going to move up to 5A, but then the cutoff numbers got adjusted after some other school population numbers (McAllen ISD) got adjusted down.

So, I'm really happy Summit avoids having to deal with Highland Park for football. Instead, they move to District 4-5A DI with Legacy, Burleson Centennial, Colleyville Heritage, Midlothian, Birdville, Richland and Red Oak.

Relatedly, that's a really strong band district. Halftimes are going to be as good as (if not better than) the games.

Some long rides on those yellow-dogs!

The furthest I found was 315 miles between Seminole and Perryton in District 2-4A DII. That's a district that also features Lubbock Estacado, Levelland and Borger. That's going to be a lot of traveling come October.

Also, District 3-5A DII is ridiculous as well. Abilene Wylie, Wichita Falls, Wichita Falls Rider, Lubbock Cooper, Plainview and Canyon Randall.

Area C is a lot of bands!   They could potentially send 6?     Area B might have a hard time getting 5, so most likely only 4 will advance.

But wow, the bands in Area C...   so competitive!

Of course the top 3 for area B are pretty much a given one would think,   but I think that 4th spot will be a tough fight!    Wylie and Prosper are my original picks, but who knows.

PESH continues to rebuild after the realignment of the schools hurt them and PSHS had a really good year last year(which I hope wasn't a fluke and that will be my final year as a band parent :( ).    Sachse also has been putting
out some real quality shows.

The Proposed Area B only had 3 bands that did not make 1's at UIL this past season. That would mean 33 bands performing, meaning 6 to state.

I kinda figured Vista might schedule Leander.

Wow. Leander leaves arguably the best 6A marching band district to join arguably the best 5A marching band district.

Great halftime shows every Friday in northern Austin.

I admit that I’m looking forward to the games more than I thought I would be now that we moved back down. Still sad about the SMC though.

Gone are the days when the Leander / Cedar Park game was the last game of the season and sold out the stadium. I was hoping the Battle at Bagdad would be the season finale again with Leander and Cedar Park being back in the same class without Vandegrift or Vista Ridge!

Those were great games!

Other than the CP student section booing our trumpet soloist.  :(  But we did get an apology from the band.
