  1. Pioneer for sure. Did you guys hear they're doing a celtic themed show this year??
  2. Am I the only one who is consistently disappointed by Coppell's placement at this competition every year?? Don't misunderstand me I'm not saying I'm disappointed by the performance, they do incredible every year, but I feel like a 5A consistent state marching finalist and honor band finalist would come out with a stronger showing in the placements. I guess what I'm saying is what changes would they have to make program wise in order to do well in these competitions?? Because BOA is already packed with talent, and seeing programs get up there like Coppell and Duncanville would make my life complete.
  3. I hate to be brutally honest here but when you post things like excuses for why your program wasn't the best it makes you look arrogant and it reflects poorly on your program, regardless of the intentions of the post. Most young people on here don't know that...Words from the wise for all those youngsters reading.
  4. UIL is all about design too. It's just a different type of design. UIL shows are designed to LOOK cleaner. In every marching band competition it's all about design. Design helps you achieve that false perception of cleanliness by hiding the dirt. That's why boa awards exposure more.
  5. I think what has happened here is that Marcus had an easier show so they performed it better, hence winning the performance captions in prelims, but bell's show was harder and almost as clean so they lost performance and won the caption that tries to put performance and difficulty into one. GE is an interesting experiment, they just haven't gotten it quite right. (I didn't see boasa so I could be 400% wrong.)
  6. Am I the only one thinking round rock is becoming the old cedar park of this forum? So many defensive band kids
  7. You know, I was going to post my predictions on this thread, but I decided against it because I don't want to get hit by a barrage of unhappy band kids criticizing my predictions because I don't worship their programs.
  8. Yeah find a more intense show in the last 10 years, drum corps doesn't count. So you're saying that because cedar park used the same drill the year after...it takes away from the first year they did it. Right, well you have the most flawed logic I've ever seen. Intensity is not something I would expect an immature kid to understand. It's a lot more than just playing loud and moving fast, it's in the build, and the way you communicate with your audience. That show communicated the Entire time. By the way.....does that make Round Rock like -20th?
  9. Haha, try to find a moment where it's not fast or intense. Good Luck. They didn't win, but they were the best band there. Period.
  10. Cedar Park won best music and visual of the day, and second in percussion.
