  1. Actually, Bell had a long lunch break and then they had practice (I don't know for how long) at my stadium while we were performing since they could not practice at their own stadium.
  2. yeah...the rankings are ridiculous...I'm from Grapevine and we finished a lot better than last state year but were so confused by our jumping rankings...
  3. There is a possibility for 6 bands to advance to state from area B...I don't know if there have been any 5A bands that have not recieved a one so far in this area but according to http://uilforms.com/regions/2/AREA%20MARCH...mOrder-3A5A.pdf, there are 30 5A bands in area B Edit: ok so I figured out that on the link above, it lists Granbury as a 5A band, but on the official result link listed previously, Granbury is a 4A band...so does anyone know for sure which they are?
  4. It is at Pennington Field. I agree with some of your predictions although I was very surprised that colleyville heritage did not make finals at BOA Arlington...
  5. ok here are the possibilities for 5A Area B Marching contest... SAM HOUSTON PLANO WEST BURLESON NORTH CROWLEY L.D. BELL WEATHERFORD BOYD (MC KINNEY) BOWIE FLOWER MOUND PLANO EAST MARCUS LAMAR TRINITY LEWISVILLE CREEKVIEW CARROLL MANSFIELD PASCHAL WYLIE HEBRON MARTIN COLLEYVILLE HERITAGE ALLEN SUMMIT ARLINGTON GRAPEVINE RICHLAND HALTOM GRANBURY PLANO SENIOR of course these bands have to get a one at uil region to make it to area but any guesses on who will make finals at area and who will go to state?
  6. Thanks...we honestly did not think we were going to make finals... In response to the other question out there, we only had half of our last movement on the field and created a fake ending.
  7. I totally agree. We haven't been to BOA in over 10 years...We like Mansfield Summit are not a BOA band due to the fact that our directors want to focus on marching and execution before visuals and props and such...I am undecided on whether watching BOA would help or not due to the focus of the band being distracted from what we have to do in our show.
  8. We (Grapevine) played a spirit type show, while Marcus mached their first movement and then micro-drilled their third movement. I don't know why they skipped the second movement though.
  9. grapevine is going...we go every year so I don't know why we aren't on the list but count us in... our show is Inside the Labyrinth...it is a pretty sweet show...we'll have to see how it ends up!
  10. Grapevine has around 11 marching which is all of the actual players but if you ever watch us, you will see we have 19 horns because we have about 8 fakers. Our band as a whole is over 250 people.
  11. 5A Region 24: All bands except R.L. Turner got 1's. Creekview, Colleyville Heritage, Flower Mound, Grapevine, Hebron, Carroll, Lewisville, Marcus, and Newman Smith all got 1's!! We (Grapevine) got straight 1s and performed one of our best shows this year.
  12. Grapevine, which we did have our whole show on the field, we just didn't have much time to clean it, practices: 4:00 to 6:00 Mondays 4:00 to 6:30 Tuesdays Nothing on Wednesdays for multiple reasons 4:00 to 5:30 Thursdays 7:00 to 8:00 am Fridays which adds up to 7 hours so we have an additional hour for sectionals and such on wednesdays and thursdays
  13. I need some honest answers from people who went to toc. How did Grapevine do? Were you suprised at the outcome? Because we were. Everyone in our band including our directors and techs thought we did way better in finals than prelims yet our score went down. And what is up with our percussion winning outstanding percussion and it not really affecting our over all score? Don't get me wrong...I was really happy for our percussion!
  14. Thanks for the compliments! I am one of the horn players with those great runs. We are still working on those...You didn't mention anything about how good they were but we learned the last 6 sets or so with 10 minutes left in practice on the Thursday before the contest! Eeks!
  15. ok, thanks guys...no offense to some of you but there are a bunch of bands that I really have never heard of and don't think are going to be very good but judging from the people replying, I am really not referring to any of yall. but yeah anyways, we will see how it turns out
