  1. Yes we did use it in our 2018 show, but we put a twist on it as that was kinda the theme of our show was twisted.
  2. 6A Prelim Results: 4th: 91.2 Dickinson 3rd: 93.1 Tomball Memorial (best percussion and color guard) 2nd: 94.1 Bridgeland 1st: 95.5 Seven Lakes (best music and visual)
  3. As a Tomball Memorial Alumni I made the trip to watch them perform and the results were not an accurate reflection of how they performed. Fans were extremely upset afterwards and directors were not pleased. This is the lowest we’ve placed in a finals competition and no one was pleased. Time to get back to work and show them we mean business!
  4. Tomball memorial was not in the top 2 (non-Katy) for 6A in prelims.
  5. I just saw this but we played that song in our state show “Battleship” as a 4A band in 2013 (we were small back then but it is on YouTube) Tomball Memorial 2013 Battleship.
  6. This is the link to our similar show that was 2016. Very fun and interactive in parts!
  7. Yes, Cityscapes, Tomball Memorial 2015 was my first marching show, but our state performance wasn’t clean. If anything we thought our 2017 5A State performance should’ve been in finals (Eureka the life in the Oilfield), but thank you very much I will miss being in that band, they have a hard future ahead of them as we are now 6A and even though we had a strong performance last year with Claire de Loon, our Area is much harder than 5A. Woodlands, Oak Ridge, Spring, College Park, all stomped us out in Area finals. I would recommend if you can see Memorial’s show this year it sounds like it will be pretty cool. Thank you Cityscapes and SpartanMarcher it is on YouTube along with our show Emotions which had a similar powerful ballad.
  8. The best crowd reaction I remember when I was marching was with our 2015 5A State Show “Riddle Me This” which had a bunch of riddles and thematic music to match. In the second movement we played A Thousand Years by Christina Perry, And to add emphasis to the important strain we added and extra 8 ct of rest. We could hear people in the Astrodome singing along during the 8 ct and then came in strong with the strain. It was by far one of the most emotional performances I marched throughout highschool. My mother still gets choked up when she hears the song on the radio because of the passion we all had. That will always be a cherished memory even though I march less competitively in college now.
  9. Tomball Memorial’s Show is “The Day the Music Died” featuring music by artists who died young. Lots of promise in this theme it will be fun to see how they execute it.
  10. Friendswood is amazing, and Willis has really cranked it out over these past two years and evolving rapidly. I would expect to see Crosby higher on the list than what y’all have placed, and Bryan is also a 6A band so they shouldn’t be on the list.
  11. Tomball Memorials are really cool they got brand new uniforms this year witha hipcape that can slide up through a sparkly window pocket on their chest and crest an additional affect as well as a sparkly under shirt under the jacket. On their shako they can either wear a really nice and A-symmetrical wrap or a mirror on the front, definitely a step up from the black trash bags at state last year.
  12. Thank you both, I have loved following and watching The Woodlands for many years now and I personally know a few kids in the band and know that it is an amazing organization, there’s always a couple bad apples in the bunch right? We are so fortunate we have you guys in our area to push us and make us work ten times as hard because what your band achieves is what our band desires! Unfortunately I only saw your show once and it was from the back but even still I got goosebumps and was constantly amazed by both your musicianship and marching technicalities. While I will be a tech at a different school next year I will still make sure I catch you at at least one contest!
  13. I will have to say I was shocked to hear some of the comments from a Woodlands band Member who called Tomball Memorial “a broke trash band”, and while I don’t know if their director will handle it but there was no need for that kind of disrespect towards anyone’s performance. I know that does not reflect their program and I met many great band kids from that program, however hearing that being said to other band kids was extremely hurtful and I feel very upset for the TMHS, Spring, and Kingwood bands who were made fun of.
  14. Yea I did not see CP finals because we were in warmup for TMHS. I know when they came to the staging area their director got on to them for being complacent too soon. I still very much enjoyed their props and visual presentations and imagine they will do pretty well at state.
  15. I was surprised to see College Park get bumped down to 4th, I thought it was going to be a Conroe ISD sweep but still amazing themes and shows all around. I also have to give credit to Kingwood what an amazing military band!
