2014 TMEA 5A Honor Band

It is too early in the season. If people haven't heard drum corps shows yet, I really doubt that they have heard high schools. -

We absolutely love Blue Springs! They are such a nice band! The support from them helped us push hard into finals! -
WOW! John Horn did FANTASTIC! I was not expecting them to dominate the competition! Great job to them!

I only think so because now since they had OUR tech, she most likely gave them a cymbal feature like we did every year. So now Round Rock cymbals might not be the only line with their own unique feature... But I guess we have to see!

Drumline books/shows that amazed you
Percussionization replied to Percussionization's topic in Section Heaven
I cannot agree with you any more with the Bluecoats Ritual. One of my favorite drum features. And when the Tenors come front and center and play their feature, EVERYBODY is just cheering and screaming. Best tenor line in my opinion. And I am with you also in the Cavaliers. That was such a great feature, especially when the snares play diddles to singles that clean like that. Holy crap! My favorite drum break of this year was the Cadets! The snares playing alternating flams on triplets, at 150? I cannot even BEGIN to imagine how hard it was to clean that up! Colin McNutt probably just decided one day, "I'm gonna write something that's really freaking hard." Haha -

This is a thread for all of the percussion freaks! This will be a discussion about all drumlines in Texas and what you think about them. What is YOUR favorite drum book? Show? What was the hardest, fastest, and coolest show/book you have seen? Your favorite line in Texas? Your favorite section? Your favorite section from a certain school? Your favorite uniform (sorry, I had to )? Your favorite everything! Do not limit yourself to this year, go as far back as you want!

Cedar Ridge is going to Lonestar? Last I heard, they weren't going to go because we weren't going. I guess it was just a rumor then! In that case they are definitely going to get best cymbals since they have our old tech. No doubt about that one. I think Cedar Park for best front ensemble and possibly champion? Unless Cedar Ridge kicks it up to 11 (which I have no doubt they are capable of doing) then I have no idea what will happen. So excited to find out!

I have to say, at Round Rock, we did not expect what happened. But I'm still very happy that we made finals! When I heard them say my school for tenth place I was kind of downed, but hearing Marcus and L.D. Bell right after us was even more of a shock!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOO proud if Vandergrift and Woodlands! And Blue Springs was FANTASTIC! GREAT competition!

We (Round Rock) are quiet because really we don't know what is going to happen. I personally think that we will either beat CTJ and Bowie, or we will stay behind them yet again for BOA SA. We have the potential to go really far, but so has everybody else. In my opinion I think that we will do something that we have never done before. That's all I got!

That's really inspiring... That's amazing how y'all went and made a comeback as hard as you did! You beat us last year with one of our best shows! That's amazing!

Haha well my favorite will always be "The Dragon". "The Raven" did have a really smashing band part to go along with it though, but then they both sounded amazing with the echos of the Alamodome. But it seems we do a very very exciting show every other year. So hopefully we will come back in Lonestar with our latest bang!
