Marching arts for all the seasons! Since it's just around the corner, I thought I'd go ahead and start this thread. Lots of fine Texas groups are attending the WGI World Championships this year.

Friendswood should have a very good shot at advancing out of A class but the battle to advance out of Open class will be brutal. We desperately need some movement in the Texas guard world since A class is so crowded. Also, it doesn’t help that in the DFW area, Keller was one spot away from moving up in 2018, and now it seems like Wakeland has dropped down from Open class.

As much as I am excited to cheer on these Texas guards, I’m always most excited to see what Avon and Carmel do. They have consistently put out pure greatness. Obviously Avon’s past 2 shows have been stunning, but Carmel’s “Emerging” and “A lot of Strength Left” (I love me some Kate Bush :) ) have to be my favorites from those years. Carmel has always struck me as pretty conservative in design, so it was cool to see them succeed with more quirky and political shows.
