I believe CTJ pulled out of this one though, correct?

Will be exciting to see Churchill, Weiss and McNeil head down to the valley!

If CTJ did in fact drop, than the race for 1st will likely be the most interesting its ever been at this contest.

Will be interesting to see how this contest is scored given how early it is and how much different programs will have to perform.

Trombone player

I love weather and music. Hot and steamy summers combined with marching rehearsal = heaven!

I have a sneaking suspicion John B. Alexander or Churchill will come out on top here

I NEED Alexander to win this regional. It’s high time for a South Texas (not San Antonio) program to take it home.

But if CTJ goes, they probably won’t win. Do we know for certain yet that they’re going?

I'm not too sure about how strong Churchill is, especially for taking first place. I believe they will rank highly, but I have some doubts regarding a first place spot. That's just me though. I haven't seen anything from them, so if anything is out there feel free to PM it to me.

There’s actually a video of their performance at SA finals in 2016 on the Tube

Out of all the bands going, Churchill had the strongest BOA season in 2018. 8th at Conroe and Austin, and 22nd at SA.

Churchill will have a new head director for 2019. Not sure if that will affect them positively or negatively tho.

Okay.  I just wasn't 100% sure and did not want to assume anything!

I agree, but they will have a new head director, and while the replacement is likely going to benefit them well in the long run, its rare (there are definetely exceptions) that a program goes through a director change without some sort of transition/rebuilding year. Either way I think they are a lock for the top 5!
