18 bass clarinets

we're not exactly the norm, so i was curious.

Yea we have a balance problem cus were mostly brass. The ww's dominated last year when we just had 1 trumpet, but now that we have 7 you cant hear any of the ww's.

nope, but we have one for concert season, the numbers are the same up there for marching except the bassoon which goes to concert

You can't march a bassoon.

We have a lot of flutes especially in our 4th band. Like 25. It's not good.

I beg to differ, at Windsor Castle you may march a bassoon any time you like.

we have at least one bassoon for every band i think (and there are 8 bands) it's just most of them become brass players for marching, like mellophone or baritone. same with oboes. although we have one bassoon tenor sax, we once had an oboe alto, and we have a bassoon in pit.

wow i bet it's hard to keep your tone or w/e on a french horn when your marching, i don't know much about em but i know they gotta keep their hands a certain way in the bell for tone or pitch or something along those lines

I've never understood my frechhorn players put their fist inside their bell... our frech horn player doesent even know lol, but our director always tells her took keep it in there.

Wow...you guys have less clarinets marching than we have in 1st band alone! There are 8 of us in 1st band and like 9 in 2nd. What class is your school? We're 4A

lol, we just have one band for concert and marching. Were a 2A school. Last year we just had one clarinet.... she was never heard lol.
