CTJBandPops
there are a number of schools that are splitting this year and creating new schools in their district - any thoughts on impact? also - what schools are planning to grow their bands? here in SA, there are no new High Schools, but the established programs are going to be bigger in 2018 due to growth - from a BOA impact, I think Churchill, Reagan and CTJ will all be bigger this year. Will be interested to see the impact at Marcus with a new director in a UIL year for a program that has dominated the UIL for many years
Guest
I think we will see some growth from O'Connor, Taft, and Stevens. All very good programs that are getting very competitive. I saw O'Connor in 2017 at Duncanville and was highly impressed by their sound.

I think all of the schools you mentioned are more than twice the size of Leander, or close to it anyway. Yet we’re considered 6A. Is it time for a 7A classification?! abtwitch
I've got my eyes on Belton, personally. With their new director from Round Rock and the fact that they are attending both BOA Austin and Conroe on top of TMC, I'm excited to see where they end up at Area. I expect them to exceed people's expectations, even if they don't make finals.
LeanderMomma
I think Duncanville is going to really shine this year. I wish they would come down to BOA Austin!

SpartanBandAlum
Porter High is continuing to grow, but we’re still not quite on everyone’s radar yet
J-Mike16
I personally think Lumberton is going to be better this year and the years in the upcoming. I am a little biased towards my band. I know that we very good just not on the same level that most bands are that are talked on here the most. I do think we will go back to state again this year. Dont know if we'll medal or not. Also, I agree with SpartanMarcher. Porter is growing. Really good band. Loved last years show.

And yeah, I loved our show last year, especially watching everything kind of evolve throughout the season and come together perfectly for our last couple UIL runs J-Mike16
