Best Bands in east Texas

Here we go. What are the best bands in east Texas excluding the Houston area.

Off the top of my head I would have to say North Lamar would be up there

Hmmmm....East Texas has some of the strongest small schools in the state, and a few 5A/6A schools that aren't that particularly strong against their competition but might still be stronger than these smaller schools.  It's difficult to gauge them against each other.

Maybe something like this?

3. Whitesboro
4. Farmersville
5. Lindale
6. Lumberton
7. Huntsville
8. Mineola
9. Queen City 
10. Atlanta

Yup, South of I-20 and East of I-45 has a high likelihood of being Military. I still love the legendary Kingwood 1998 show that won both 1st place Marching votes in 5A State Prelims and only barely missed 5A State Finals (largest classification at the time).

 

I saw that show live from the stands of Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco my senior year and I was amazed.
