I've updated with all of the results from October 15th contests.

Area B is in very serious trouble. Every single remaining band has to get a 1 in order to advance 5 to State. If even a single remaining band gets a 2 or lower then Area B only takes 4 to State. From a ridiculous list of attendees that I can't only pick 4 from.

Not that it matters, but in Area D, Region 18 has 7 6A bands making the total for Area D of 33 bands. Three of those bands regularly make 2's and a couple make 1's on and off, so it is highly likely that Area D will only have 5 bands advancing to state. I can see 8 of those bands being in contention for those 5 spots - CTJ, Reagan, Anderson, Bowie, Cedar Ridge, Hendrickson, Round Rock, and Westwood.

Per UILForms, there are only 6 6A bands performing at Region 18.

Yep, you are right. I was using the realignment site and they had it at 7 until a couple of days ago. They had Ann Richards SFYWL listed as a 6A. Not the first mistake I've seen there. But, like I said, it isn't likely that Area D will have 6 bands advancing.

All 7 6A Region 5 bands got 1's!!!!!!!!! Congratulations and thank you for all the hard work, especially to all the groups that made 2's last year, that's an awesome accomplishment!

Now all Area B needs is for the 3 Plano schools to get 1's on Saturday and Area B will advance 5 bands to State.

It looks as if we will definitely have a 12 band finals on Wednesday morning!

Thought 'morning' was a typo...nope, must've missed that. Something just seems inherently wrong with a morning finals block...but maybe that's just the nostalgia tied to warming up in the dome parking lot after sunset with adrenaline still pumping from finalist announcements.

Understand what they're trying to do, just seems like an odd experience.
