Xenon
Never having read the books, I thought it was really good. Except for all the raving 14yo girls screaming and giggling every time Edward or Jacob came on the screen. . . . .
Danpod
I'm anxious to see the movie. I was reluctant to read the novel but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Never having read the books, I thought it was really good. Except for all the raving 14yo girls screaming and giggling every time Edward or Jacob came on the screen. . . . . In the novel, the giddiness is much more subdued and internalized. Think more along the lines of being left breathless with your heart pounding, rather than giggling like a fool. Danpod
Is anyone worried that the majority of the posts on this thread is coming from 2 boys in their 20's? Can't a brotha enjoy a vampire-romance novel?
treblemaker
Can't a brotha enjoy a vampire-romance novel? No. And you're not black either.
borchnork
hey, I find nothing wrong with it. These books are addicting... Not good, just addicting. lol. And surprisingly, in the now three times I've seen the movie, the little teenage girls were DEAD silent the ENTIRE time.

Danpod
I'm kinda upset that they fired the director though. =[ Not me. I think she made the film a little too cheesy. I wasn't sensing the cheese when I read the novel.
bluebellbrass07
I read the novel. Have you no dignity

Danpod
I read it to see what all the hype was about. The novel kept my attention and I enjoyed it.
borchnork
Actually, when I read the book, I was expecting a cheesy movie. I mean... it's awkward high school teenage first love... Of COURSE it can get awkward and cheesy.
TRtrumpet
Lol, I didn't think it was too cheesy, but that's the me. I loved the novel, but I liked the movie in a different way.
borchnork
I almost got murdered the other day from my friends because I said I thought the movie was better than the book...
whitewing09
I thought the movie was funny My friends tell me to read the books but nahh
Keyboard_Countessa
I've read and enjoyed the books. As for the movie... the first word that came to mind after seeing it was "awkward." After more contemplation, my overall opinion is that it was "so bad it's good" (i.e. funny in places when it shouldn't be, things like that). whitewing09
Well, I don't think that I would have understood it if my friend who read it wasn't sitting by me.
