U of Houston Football player breaks leg on a band cart

I was watching the game when I saw this injury. I didn't think too much of it at first. Then, I realized that the cart probably wasn't made out of plastic. Ouch! I feel horrible for the guy. The player's medical bills are already being covered by Marshall's insurance carrier. However, the University should expect to pay a lot more in the lawsuit that I'm sure will be filed. Those carts were about three or four yards outside the endzone. When a player is running full out to the back of the endzone, it's nearly impossible for him to stop his momentum to avoid stationary obstacles.

 

I love how Reece Davis, the ESPN commentator, sounded so bewildered when describing the "paraphernalia" in the back of the endzone.
